In a bold step toward climate action and sustainable industrial growth, Technology and Management Integratix (TMI) has signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Refurb n Up, a startup incubated at the National Incubation Center, Faisalabad (NICF). This partnership sets the stage for launching Pakistan’s first dedicated digital platform for carbon emissions calculation, record-keeping, and reporting.
The MoU was officially signed on April 7, 2025, by Mr. Amjad Mehmood, Director Operations at TMI, and Mr. Hamid Ali, Founder and Director of Refurb n Up, during a ceremony held at NIC Faisalabad.
The joint platform will:
- Help industries and public sector organizations measure their carbon footprint
- Enable transparent record-keeping and climate compliance reporting
- Facilitate access to international carbon credit markets
- Provide technical support and ESG advisory services to exporters and manufacturers
This initiative directly addresses a long-standing gap in Pakistan’s environmental infrastructure by delivering the tools and expertise needed to meet emerging global compliance standards.
Refurb n Up brings its expertise in circular economy and e-waste transformation, reducing emissions by refurbishing digital devices and making technology more accessible. TMI, a purpose-driven consultancy, adds its strengths in ESG strategy, digital solutions, and capacity building, helping organizations transition to low-carbon, resilient operations.
At the ceremony, Hamid Ali emphasized the platform’s role in empowering Pakistani industries and public sector bodies to track emissions and tap into the global carbon economy. Amjad Mehmood highlighted that over 60% of Pakistan’s exports go to regions with stringent environmental regulations—and failure to comply could result in penalties and lost competitiveness. This collaboration will enable exporters to stay ahead through smart, sustainable innovation.
The event was graced by esteemed faculty from:
- University of Agriculture, Faisalabad
- University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore
- National Textile University Faisalabad
- Government College University Faisalabad
Industry experts, startup founders, and technology professionals also attended.
Prof. Dr. Amjad Hussain, Director Studies at UET Lahore, noted that Pakistan lacks a robust sustainability framework, and this platform is a much-needed bridge. Prof. Dr. Shahid Imran, also from UET Lahore, called the venture “a pivotal development to help Pakistan’s industries meet global environmental standards.”
Umar Saeed Qadri, Registrar of University of Agriculture Faisalabad, emphasized the importance of sustainability in agriculture, and Aiman Shahid, Program Manager at NICF, expressed pride in the role Refurb N Up is playing in shaping Pakistan’s sustainable future.
